Amongst all this rural splendor conveniently rooms2stay, a petite BnB that is BiG on hospitality, is situated. There are three private rooms available in this 100-plus-year-old historic home (equipped with modern amenities and little touches not normally provided by other lodging facilities) positioned on a red-bricked, maple tree-lined street. You will be greeted by a human. The hostess (Cat) lives on site with her small dog, Oli. He, a backup wireless doorbell, will greet you after the sound of the first doorbell ("Ring" video device) chime with the sound of his people then goes to his protective security base of operations underneath the hostess's bed for most of the duration of your stay where he protects all. He only barks at your first arrival, go figure? In the event Cat is out of town, she has handpicked a co-host who usually outdoes her with his breakfasts and wows everyone! A keypad entry code will be provided for your coming and goings, on the back door nearest the carport, while you are staying.
rooms2stay is an ideal short term stay for overnight business travelers, visiting college parents (ask about college graduate weekend package) and visiting professors or local guest performers. Great location for wedding guests, graduations, needed extra bed space for family reunions, or someone just in transit through the area. This home has been authorized and inspected by the city. rooms2stay is not handicap accessible, nor suitable for children and no pets please. Nor is it suited as a honeymoon locale. However bridal party overnight stays before the wedding day are welcomed (see enhancement packages tab on the desktop web page). This is a smoke-free environment.
Breakfast is no extra fee for guests. If you want to invite friends over for breakfast there is a small fee for non-staying guests. Matter of fact there is no additional fees other than what Uncle Sam wants.
In this corner of Oz is Baldwin City (KS), a quaint, one traffic light, bedroom community. The NE region of the state is green and hilly with enough fertile cultivated land to make you appreciate and be proud of our farmers. Situated 20 miles from Lawrence and Ottawa (location of Kansas University and Ottawa University), Baldwin City is approximately a 1-hour drive south of Kansas City MCI airport and 40 minutes from K-City for that bigger urban fix.
But don't underestimate the rural beat of the country! Baldwin City is home to the main campus of Baker University, the oldest private university in the state. This place has something for everyone! A vibrant rural agricultural community (AgEco) offering lots of fun unique activities, local sporting events, music venues in the surrounding area, history (re-enactments) to explore, vineyards, Kansas Belle dinner train, entertainment rides like Polar Express™Train Ride or variety of Peanuts™ adventures (done quarterly) via Midland Railroad plus area secret treasure discoveries that are off the beaten path. Just up a block there is a unique bookstore/coffee spot/and bar (The Nook) in the evening along with an outdoor patio to leisurely enjoy. The Lumberyard Arts Center always has something fun going on and inner-city park (locally affectionately known as the Lotatorium is recasting itself later this year) complete with a stage, large viewing screen, splash pad, concessions, seating. And then, of course, there is the city's signature event: Baldwin City's annual Maple Leaf Festival!
