Obviously, guests have a reason they choose a destination according to their specific travel desires be it business or pleasure. To give you a picture of this peaceful getaway; the two-story home was built in 1884, one block from downtown Baldwin City and Baker University.   Local church bells ring twice a day. This is a  one-stoplight town. Usually, any traffic jams are due to a farmer's tractor on the road.

In Spring, birds sing their morning announcement during the season. Late Spring and early Summer bring fireflies to watch (which are typically not seen west of Kansas). We are lucky to be part of the monarch's migration route to the south in early fall with Autumn's maple leaf colors forming a canopy over brick-lined streets. The sound of Winter's silence, when the snow is falling with a backdrop of leafless trees with branches like blackened lace against the sky, complements this season. And when was the last time you sat on a front porch with a small fire pit, your favorite beverage in hand while listening to the rain or hearing the squeak of a porch screen door?

 

There are enough college and professional sports for everyone's taste in the area.   This place is a slice of Midwest Americana at its best.  History abounds with local area museums at universities and reenactments. Try downshifting from a busy-paced life and experience the Ag-Eco venues of local farms and their on-site country markets, and wine tastings usually with live music.  There are over 100 y.o. restored barns to discover, county fairs, antiquing, and farm-to-table alfresco meal experiences.
